Online Conform & QC

Online conform is the tech finishing pass where the offline edit gets rebuilt at full size from camera originals. Each VFX shot drops in at the right handle, and each title and lower-third is rebuilt at master quality. The timeline then locks to the frame before it moves to colour and delivery.

Our team lines up conform at the Tribeca and Soho finishing houses where most NYC television and feature work lands. These include PostWorks New York, Technicolor PostWorks NY, Light Iron NY at Harbor Picture Company, Goldcrest Post Production, MTI Film NY ops, and Picture Shop NY. Their conform artists run Avid Symphony, Fix, and Baselight pipelines that map cleanly onto the East-Coast Avid-heavy episodic workflow.

AAF or XML from the offline cutting room is rebuilt against ARRIRAW, RED R3D, or Sony X-OCN originals. VFX pulls are checked against the edit reference. Extra pieces — graphic packages, archival inserts, music-cleared swaps — then merge into a single conformed master.

From conform the master moves into automated and manual QC against the exact delivery target. For HBO Hudson Yards, NBCUniversal, Bloomberg, or CNBC handoff we check ATSC A/85 loudness, broadcast-safe video levels, and SMPTE timecode integrity. For Netflix, Apple TV+, Disney+, or Amazon Studios we run the platform-exact QC checklist. It covers codec settings, IMF CPL structure, captioning sync, and HDR PQ metadata. For Tribeca, NY Film Festival, or DOC NYC theatrical submissions we check DCP playback, subtitle timing, and CPL integrity on a reference cinema server. Interra Baton, Venera Pulsar, and manual op review run side by side. Each deliverable ships with detailed frame-accurate QC reports. Receiving TV networks and streamers can then sign off without escalation, and first-pass acceptance stays the norm rather than the exception.
