Location management in New York is choreography under pressure. Our supervisors run base camps on streets where parking is fought over by the hour and foot traffic never thins out. Each site carries its own permit terms through the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment. Those sites range from Tribeca lofts and SoHo cast-iron facades to the brownstone rows of Brooklyn Heights, the warehouse blocks of Industry City and Red Hook, the corporate plazas of Hudson Yards, and the round-the-clock theatre of Times Square. We time gear trucks against alternate-side rules and stage hair, makeup, and wardrobe in nearby backup spaces. We also keep the FDNY film safety officer on the team whenever the shoot climbs above fifty feet or involves any SFX work.

The same playbook scales across the rest of the city and out to the nearby regions. Our managers set up MTA-adjacent shoots around subway and Metro-North service windows, run NYPD movie set details for picture cars on the FDR and BQE, and clear FAA airspace through LaGuardia, JFK, Newark, and Teterboro towers when aerial units fly. On unit moves to the Hudson Valley, the Hamptons, Westchester, or Jersey-side mixed-tax shoots, we brief property owners and hold liaison meetings with local film offices. We also run risk checks against nor'easters, summer humidity loads, and winter ice. Each wrap closes with a logged restoration walk-through, owner sign-off, and a COI delivered against MOME and NYC Parks needs. That way the next production through the door inherits the relationship intact.
