Broadcast Delivery

Broadcast delivery in New York rests on the published tech specs of the city's networks and cable ops. The list runs from HBO at Hudson Yards to NBCUniversal at 30 Rock. It takes in the Bloomberg, CNBC, MSNBC, and Fox News HQs in Manhattan. It also covers Showtime/Paramount, plus Discovery and AMC Networks. Each one keeps its own ingest profile, covering accepted codecs, MXF container structure, and audio channel mapping to ATSC A/85 -24 LKFS. It also sets the captioning workflow and the CEA-608/708 sidecar deliverables. The last piece is the metadata schema that feeds the network's traffic and as-run systems.

Our delivery team holds current spec sheets for each network. We prepare masters to the published needs at PostWorks New York, Technicolor PostWorks NY, Light Iron NY, and Goldcrest Soho. Files then clear tech acceptance on the first try. That spares the rejection notes that put air dates and licensing windows at risk.

Global networks often take New York content under licence. They include co-productions with the BBC, Channel 4, or ZDF, Latin American buyers at Globo or TelevisaUnivision, and Asian licensees taking the HBO and Showtime catalogue. For them we run dual-standard delivery, covering both the home NTSC 29.97 master and the localised EBU 25fps version.

Frame-rate conversion runs through Snell Alchemist or Cinnafilm Tachyon, not simple frame doubling. Audio is remixed to each destination's loudness target: ATSC A/85 and OP-59 for US delivery, EBU R128 and ITU-R BS.1770 for European regions. Closed-caption and subtitle files are reformatted to the network's preferred container — TTML, WebVTT, STL, or EBU-TT-D. Automated Interra Baton and Venera Pulsar QC sits alongside manual op review. Each package ships with a written compliance report. It logs video levels, audio loudness, safe-area conformance, and full metadata. Receiving networks can then sign off without escalation.
