The NYS Film Tax Credit gives 30 percent on qualifying production spend, with a 10 percent NYC uplift in the metropolitan zone. It adds a 30-35 percent post credit and a 35 percent uplift for upstate work. Empire State Development runs the program, and you claim it against ATL/BTL spend tracked through the NYS Film Tax Credit Program. Our team guides producers through eligibility, the application and reporting, while NYC MOME Made in NY permits line up street closures, intersection holds and parks shooting.

What is the New York State film tax credit?
New York State gives a fully refundable 30% tax credit on qualifying production spend through the Empire State Film Production Tax Credit, rising to 40% on qualified labor in eligible upstate counties.
